Peter Heisig is Professor for Information and Knowledge Management at the Department of Information Science at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam (Germany). Previously, he worked as Senior Research Fellow at the Leeds University Business School (UK) and the University of Cambridge (UK) coordinating a large UK research project on Knowledge and Information Management through life involving leading UK companies like Rolls-Royce and Airbus (UK).
From 1997 to 2004, he led the Fraunhofer Competence Centre Knowledge Management (Berlin, Germany) working with industry (e.g. Volkswagen) and public administration (Home office) to implement KM. He conducted several benchmarking studies on KM.
In 2011, he initiated the Global Knowledge Research Network and coordinated two research projects with its members from 25+ countries.
Peter served as KM Expert to the EU Working Group on Good practice in knowledge Management (CWA 14924).
Peter holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from the Technical University Berlin and a Diplom (Master) in Social Sciences from the University of Göttingen, Germany.
